About me and my blog
Amateur Vegan Food Blogger
Hi everyone! I am currently in my senior year at Siena college studying Sports and Service Marketing and Strategic Communications. I am a recently turned Vegan with a passion for plant based food. Although being vegan sounds like it should be easy the hardest part is find affordable and easy options that don’t break the bank as well as are easy to make on school nights when a quick and easy meal is all you’re looking for. Come join me on my journey on discovering the do’s and don’ts of a vegan lifestyle.
While growing up in Upstate New York to a family of outdoorsy hunters never did the thought of becoming vegan ever cross my mind. Starting off with a vegetarian diet was my first step into the evolution that I am still working on today. Within the past 6 months I decided that going vegan was the next best option for me. In my late teens, I was diagnosed with being lactose intolerant causing me to no longer be able to properly digest milk products the way that everyone else can. Although being lactose intolerant is usually very hard to deal because of the new and improved dairy free options we have today made becoming a full vegan even easier. As well as broadened the food options I am now able to eat.
Within my blog, I intend on sharing stories, experiences, as well as recipes to help any person trying to find the best plant based options for full vegans, people who eat mostly vegan, as well as people who are curious about the lifestyle and are considering trying it out for themselves. Feeding your body right is very important. Being confident with the meals you made as well as enjoying them is something that everyone should feel. Just because you eat a plant based diet doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy what you are eating. Having a balance diet that doesn’t include any animal products seems hard in the beginning but once you find your favorite plant based meat replacement you will become reluctant to go back to the real thing!
Although this isn’t only about what and how to eat plant based foods this blog also is to educate people of the negative effects that the animal industry has had on not only our country but the world in general. Discovering how the Meat industry works really effected my thoughts on why being a vegan is important to me (This topic will be a future post!). Educating people on how our earth and environment is effected by big meat companies will hopefully in the future to help people who eat meat to do it more eco-friendly and humane way for the animal itself.
I can’t wait for y’all to be able to watch me through my journey and be able to see my progress.
